"Year of the Horse" — Crimson Sunbird
by TwoBehindTheLens Wildlife Photography
About this piece
Kuching has many beautiful birds, and most can be found in backyards and parks. This male Crimson Sunbird finally perched in the open amongst the foliage after flitting about within the branches. Only the males are crimson red in colour, whereas the females are a dull yellowish-brown. They are fast, and their calls can be heard before they are even spotted. Photographed in Kuching, Malaysia.
