Tangled Pathways Through Green

I painted this in response to watching our city's green spaces disappear. With each development project, I see fewer trees, smaller parks, fewer places to breathe. Using acrylics, I layered greens of different intensities—some vibrant, others muted—to show how nature gets fragmented and tangled in our urban sprawl. The pathways wind without clear direction, much like the confused feelings I have watching this transformation. What strikes me most is the numbness that comes with it all. We've become so accustomed to seeing trees fall and concrete rise that we barely react anymore. This piece sits in that uncomfortable space—it's not angry or urgent, just quietly resigned.
