Locked Existence

This piece brings the chain and lock to the forefront, where I emphasize the tension between control and helplessness. Through close observation and gradual tonal buildup, I aimed to create a surface that feels almost tangible, where the roughness of skin contrasts sharply with the cold precision of metal. The lock becomes a small yet powerful symbol an object that determines freedom. By tightening the composition, I intentionally removed any sense of escape, allowing the viewer to sit with the stillness of the moment. For me, this work reflects the normalization of confinement and invites reflection on how such conditions are often overlooked.
