Lembayu Niskala

I painted Lembayu Niskala during a season when everything felt stuck—watching my peers move forward while I remained frozen, caught between seeing their victories and feeling powerless to claim my own. That disconnect, that invisible weight, is what I needed to express through painting. Working with paints allowed me to layer my emotions gradually, building depth through color and texture the way confusion and frustration builds in the mind. The muted tones and heavy brushwork reflect that gloomy, restless state—not quite darkness, but a space where hope feels distant.
