Gema Gelora

When I first learned about salsa, I was captivated by more than just the dance itself—it was the raw emotion behind every movement. The struggle, the passion, the way dancers pour their entire being into each step. I wanted to capture that intensity, that heat that courses through a dancer's body and radiates outward. Using acrylic, I layered bold, dynamic brushstrokes to translate that visceral energy onto canvas, building warmth and movement where stillness would never do. "Gema Gelora" is my response to that discovery—a visual echo of the dancer's fire. The rich tones and gestural marks create a sense of goosebumps, that feeling you get when witnessing something deeply felt and authentic. I created this for anyone who understands passion as a force that moves us, whether you dance, create, or simply recognise the beauty in someone giving everything they have.
