Entangled Survivor

In this work, a sea turtle is depicted as being caught within a web of discarded fishing nets, yet life is shown to be sustained despite the entanglement. Through the use of crayon and Prismacolor, vibrant and layered colours are applied to emphasize both the natural beauty of the animal and the harsh disruption caused by human waste. The shell is rendered with luminous intensity, while chaotic, overlapping lines are used to represent the constricting net. A sense of tension is created through the composition, where movement is suggested but restricted. The struggle of marine life is highlighted, and the impact of pollution is brought into focus, while resilience is ultimately conveyed.
