I've always wondered what our cities would look like if, just for one day, everyone switched off their lights. On Earth Day, what if we actually did it? This piece explores that curious thought—imagining Kuala Lumpur or any sprawling city stripped of its artificial glow, reduced to darkness and silence. Using mixed media, I've layered materials to capture the contrast between our bustling urban landscape and the quiet it would become. There's something both unsettling and peaceful about that vision. The work invites you to sit with the question: what would we lose, and what might we discover in that darkness? This resonates with anyone who's felt the weight of endless city lights, anyone curious about our relationship with nature, or anyone who's simply daydreamed about pressing pause on the world.
