"A Flash of Azure" — Splendid Farywren
by TwoBehindTheLens Wildlife Photography
About this piece
Successfully spotting and photographing one of the most vibrant birds in the world was a matter of luck, patience, and observation. This bird is very skittish and shy, and small in size. Only the males have the bright blue colouration which is only present during the breeding season. Photographed in Perth, Australia.
